Hello everyone. I'm savinghope. The screen name I picked because that seems to be what everyone is telling me I'm doing. I'm apparently hanging on to hope. I have been married for eight years to an addict. He abuses alcohol and painkillers. We have three children together under the age of 8. We haven't lived together in seven years because of his alcholism. We are married and I love him I'm just not in love any longer. I stay married because I said for better or worse. He has been physically violent seven years ago but hasn't touched me since. I beat him down for my own revenge and I guess he thought it was better to never touch me again.:icon_frypan:
Recently he was offered a job that would bring him closer and maybe all of us living together. I'm not so sure.
I am coming here to stay focused and make new friends who are on the same path of recovery. I still have my hurts, habits and hang ups.
It is a pleasure to be here. You'll be seeing me alot.:a122:

It wounds like you've been through a lot, but you need to hang on to what ever you got!

I hope that you'll benefit from being here at recoveryworks.

Maybe with this new job it could help turn things around for the better. We have tons of information here, and if you can find what you need I'll be more than willing to help you.

Take some time and get acquainted. Sometimes it can be pretty overwhelming, but remember we're always willing to help.

Well Hope, we have a few different community forums with Sober Sources. The Sober Village, (http://www.thesobervillage.com) Recoveryworks (http://www.recoveryworks.info) and Sober Teens Online (http://www.soberteensonline.com). Both Recoverworks and The Sober Village attract the adult population, while Sober Teens Online is directed toward the younger population. If you'd like, you can also register at The Sober Village if you'd like.
