I live in a small town and I have been going to meetings lately but today (Sunday) there are none close by! I felt kinda sad because I really look forward to 'em. Never thought that would be the case, I always thought people who went to meetings were "weird" or something. I have learned different! I look forward to them and feel stronger and happier when I go!

So to all of you newcomers--- GO TO MEETINGS!! You have nothing to lose and MUCH to gain!!!!!

That's really cool to hear!~ I know a lot of people are afraid to go. I just read that the founder of CMA died. I met him at a meeting here once. He was a cool guy.

Strange how we can be more afraid of meetings than of putting poison in our bodies.......

That is so true. Afraid of things that will heal and help you but not afraid of what some drugs are doing to your brain. Addiction has power but with help and learning how to use your own power........nothing is impossible.

I'm glad you like the meetings. :) I go to meetings with my daughter. I think I like them more than she does! The friendships and just the warmth of the people is great. She finally found one that is great. The guys owns an old house, that he rents rooms in for people who have just got out of rehab and are building their lives over. He has a connection with the local food bank and hands out food to the ones that need it. He's a great guy. She thinks the best part is that she can smoke there. lol

A sober living house, right? We have one in our town but I think it's for men only. It's a great idea, lots of people have nowhere to go after rehab so they end up staying at a "friends" house getting loaded again.

It's sorta a sober living house, just not set up legally as such. It's more like his own house that he just lets them rent rooms for a time. They share the kitchen, bathroom and then the meetings are held in the livingroom. Tough/strict rules, but just his own that he has set. He owns several, but doesn't live there, himself.

Ain't that the truth. I'm normally miss health queen, into fasting, a vegetarian, quit drinking diet pepsi, won't touch fast food, etc. But when it came to meth and ice, I had to have only the best... I didn't care WHAT was in that stuff,
Gas, kerosine, Acetone, Chloroform, Paint Thinner, Bring it On....

so crazy how we get addicted to that stuff. It boggles my mind... :EMODISDisappointed0

Those were the days, onto Recovery Days now..
